Theatre Aspen throws one hell of a Gala. This year’s Tony themed party rocked the house and raised a ton of dough for our theatre program.
The past few years Vacheron Constantine (worlds coolest watch brand) has hd a snow golf tournament in Snowmass. No one really plays well, but its a riot. The golf carts are fully equipped with chained tires and spiked chocolate milk. Prizes are given and fun is always had. I imagine they sell a few watches too… Check it.
Turning 50 in Aspen does not suck.
Jason Lee Segal hooking me up with a little clip from a wedding we worked together this summer. Thanks brotha. Fun stuff.
When I’m not shooting weddings and engagements I’m usually shooting corporate events… I really love them as they are so much fun and there’s always excellent opportunities to grab great, lasting images. I strive to make event images that will have an impact in the future and allow people to look back and remember fondly their work/party here in Aspen. The Maybelline influencers had a rockin 3 days here in town and I was smack dab in the middle… This is what went down.
Becca and Sander wanted a little adventure for their engagements, so we hiked our way up to the Hunter Creek ghost town for our session. They brought their pup along as well as a nice bottle of whiskey… Because, whiskey really does make portraits easier… Here’s what we came up with together.
Aspen Film hosts Casino Royale where guest are invited to gamble (for charity), dance and party the night away. We rocked into the New Year at the St. Regis, and the party was put on by the amazing girls at Bluebird productions.
An Aspen engagement and Maroon Bells proposal.
An Aspen proposal under the Christmas lights followed by an engagement shoot on top of Aspen mountain. This dude did it right! Jordy and Meredith have a lot of love and adventurous spirits! While shooting under some snow covered trees a huge gust of wind kicked up and covered them both in snow that had fallen from the branches. I kept shooting, of course… They both came out laughing and in the end, thats what its all about. The fun and the love.
As a photographer in Aspen, CO. the winter time brings tons of events. I was lucky enough to shoot “The Now” presented by the Aspen Art Museum again this year and their game has officially stepped up. The beginning of the night started with beautiful passed apps and a caviar station which surrounded the silent auction table. Later, a seated dinner and a live auction… After that… The Flaming Lips performed. They are their own art form and thusly a perfect fit for this event.
This wedding was captured at a remote Telluride cabin deep in the woods and far from any ballroom or hotel. I LOVE weddings like this. The remote feel gives it an extra sense of togetherness among the guests and I think people let loose a little more… Plus the views were epic and the bride and groom were gorgeous. A special thanks to Claire Roeth of Rouxby Photography for having me shoot this wedding with her. So legit.
See that smile on Amy’s face!? That’s the real deal… What you can’t see in this picture (but can if you follow the link) is that she’s wearing a sling… Yeah, Amy broke her clavicle two days before her wedding day. She was such a trooper, never letting her injury hold her down. Garrett being the man he is, hand crafted an addition to the sling that made it more wedding like. Pimp move Garrett. No wonder she said yes!
Adventure is always the theme of my ideal engagement session. On this day, I gave them an adventure! A steep 15 minute hike up a Red Butte offered us an amazing view of the valley and with relative ease… I mean, a sweat was broken, but nothing crazy… After the hike we cruised the Rio Grande Trail and found some rocks to jump out on, because why wouldn’t ya? Amy & Joe embraced the whole thing with great spirit and we got some beautiful images to prove it.
Steve and Jess were officially hitched in Hawaii but decided to throw a kick ass Aspen party for all of their family and friends. Lucky for me I was invited to be a part of their day… The weather was perfect and the setting at Rock Bottom Ranch could easily be one of the best wedding venues on Earth. The details were immaculate, the drinks were flowing and the guests were thrilled to celebrate the marriage of these two. It was a solid day.
The setting, an exclusive Aspen ranch… The occasion, an engagement. We had stunning and dramatic weather, and the golden leaves of fall hung on just long enough for these two! It was a beautiful day full of love. Cant wait to spend the day with this couple next year when the tie the knot.
This old west style party had only one rule. No rules! To hell with tradition, lets just have fun! Carrie & Warne, I left this wedding really feeling the love!

These are my favorite kind of weddings. Two amazing people, big crowd, great music, lots of fun pictures and a party that never ends… Its really why I do this!
Chris & Nancy are young and in love. They wanted their engagement session in Aspen to be somewhere special to them both, so the chose the Maroon Bells. I feel super lucky to have really fun and adventures people find me. Its also great they choose the best places to take pictures on Earth! Couldn’t be more excited for you two and the future ahead of you.
Aspen has so many beautiful places to get married, its crazy. Robert and Michelle chose the Maroon Bells, here in Aspen Colorado, as their wedding venue… Which, is right at the top of the list of most amazing places to be a wedding photographer. These two share a passion for the outdoors and for helping people. Im so happy for these two newlyweds and so pumped on the portraits we were able to get. Rock on you two.
With Mount Sopris as your backdrop, can it really get any better? With close friends, perfect weather and an enthusiasm for portraits, what more can you ask for?… Today was a good day.
These two world travelers could have chosen anywhere to have their wedding, but Aspen’s Maroon Bells really made an impression on them. I was lucky enough to spend the day with these two in this intimate mountain affair.
I mean, its Richard and Daisy…
Talk about beautiful scenery on this one! Another breathtaking Aspen wedding venue, I was lucky enough to photograph Adam & Meredith this summer. Being a photographer in Colorado is almost like cheating when we are able to get portraits like this. Click below to see the rest!
Here’s a recent video I got to be a part of on a product shoot. Adam Brooks making shit look easy. Nice work bud.
I was recently invited The Cooking School of Aspen to capture a really fun evening. We started out working on set up images with many different vendors in the Roaring Fork Valley. We got some great images of the space and moved right into cocktails and bites. Click the link below to see what we got.
Aspen parties are my favorite and thusly Ive started to get a reputation for crushing them. In this case I shot the evening event for Lauren & Anton’s wedding this summer. The Red Onion hosted the party, and the love was felt!
What an amazing year. Click the link to see some of my favorites from my recent weddings!
As Nick and I waited for Tash to arrive, friends and family hid just out of sight as to not spoil the surprise. My acting role was to play the scenic photographer up until the moment he popped the question. Nick wasn’t supposed to be in Colorado so Tash quickly knew something was up when she noticed his presence. Gotta love the romance. Well done Nick! Click the link to see them all.
Frank & Michelle got engaged in Aspen this winter. There was a string quartet, candles and flowers. What else could a girl ask for? This Aspen engagement was one to remember. Click the link to see more.
